CNRS UMR 7219 SPHERE (Sciences – Philosophy – History), Paris

The UMR SPHERE is a mixed unit CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique)/ University Paris Diderot, focusing on research on history of sciences and philosophy of sciences, combining different approaches (epistemologic, philosophic, historic, linguistic, sociologic, or anthropologic).



Dr. Anne-Marie Moulin is a Director of Research with the CNRS and based in the unit SPHERE. Trained in medicine and philosophy, she has published numerous books and articles on the history of medicine in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Her work has addressed wide-ranging topics, including immunology, vaccination, medical ethics, transplantation and trachoma.


Role in the collaboration

AM Moulin contributes to the research on understanding better the circumstances of HCV transmission to plan for effective prevention programs, with an approach from the social sciences. In particular, she is involved in the study of ethnographic investigation of medical injections as a risk factor of HCV transmission in Greater Cairo (ANRS 12246).
